- Azure SRE / Platform Engineer role at BDO, ensuring the reliability and performance of cloud platforms by applying SRE principles and collaborating across teams.
Responsibilities
- Apply SRE principles to improve platform availability, performance and resilience
- Define and improve SLIs/SLOs, capacity planning and performance optimisation
- Lead and support incident response, root cause analysis and problem management
- Build and maintain runbooks, operational playbooks and automated remediation
- Design and enhance observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights and logging/alerting platforms
- Develop reusable automation, IaC templates and platform tooling
- Support Zero Trust controls, governance compliance and resilience testing
- Collaborate across Cloud Engineering, Network, DevOps, Security and Service Delivery teams
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven experience supporting and operating Azure cloud environments at scale
- Strong knowledge of SRE practices, incident management and operational automation
- Experience with IaC (Bicep/Terraform), scripting and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with monitoring, observability and platform engineering concepts
- Azure certifications (AZ-104 essential; AZ-305/AZ-400 advantageous)
- Clear communicator with a strong focus on reliability, security and continuous improvement
