Research Engineer in AI and Visual Computing at Barco Labs designing and prototyping innovative solutions for Healthcare, Enterprise and Entertainment divisions.
Responsibilities

You pragmatically implement first-of-a-kind prototypes combining state-of-the-art HW, software SDKs, and cloud APIs with new, innovative steps and algorithms.

Requirements
A generalist with a master’s degree in computer science engineering (or similar)
Minimally 4 years of hands-on experience
Keen on innovating through rapid prototyping in the 3D Content and Immersive Visualization space
Previous experience: Minimum Linux, C++, and Python
Experience in at least one of these domains: computer vision / AI for images or video, GPU rendering and compute / 3D visualization / game engines / XR, rapid prototyping with local SDKs, cloud APIs and web technologies (preferably in the graphics, image or video domain)
Hands-on experience with iterative designing, implementing and validating applications, incl. their backends (algorithms, video pipelines...)
Experience in full stack web development (React, node.js, …), Kubernetes and micro-services is definitely a plus
Preferred, one or more of: Hands-on background in training and using machine learning: CNNs and/or neural radiance fields and/or V/LLMs, Generative AI for images or video; AI-driven video enhancement and visualization (e.g. viewpoint interpolation, avatar animation, neural radiance fields), Real-time GPU frameworks (Vulkan, CUDA, WebGPU) and game engines (Unreal, Unity, ThreeJS), Video streaming toolkits, Rapid prototyping the full application stack, including hybrid cloud + edge solutions, UX research and prototyping
