About the role

  • Partner with regional procurement teams across the UK & Ireland to identify and execute sourcing strategies that deliver additional value from combined regional and global spend.
  • Analyse spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier rationalisation, and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with global procurement to align regional sourcing activities with corporate frameworks, preferred supplier agreements, and long-term category strategies.
  • Lead sourcing projects from initiation through to contract execution, ensuring compliance with internal governance and procurement policies.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive terms, sustainable solutions, and strong commercial outcomes.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand business needs and drive alignment across divisions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and support local procurement teams in implementing strategic supply chain agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance to ensure delivery of agreed KPIs and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of category strategies and contribute to the overall maturity and capability of the UK&I procurement function.
  • Drive innovation, sustainability, and responsible sourcing practices in line with company objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing or category management, ideally within a multi-site or multinational organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience in spend analysis and market benchmarking.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams, functions, and geographies.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and supplier management principles.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in using procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Coins, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors (desirable).
  • Exposure to global or group-level sourcing initiatives (desirable).
  • MCIPS qualification or equivalent professional certification (desirable).
