Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers
  • Build and maintain a high-trust, high-accountability team culture
  • Own the engineering rhythm — standups, planning, retros
  • Identify and address performance issues early
  • Lead hiring with input from the Head of Engineering
  • Remove blockers and shield the team from noise
  • Surface risks and communicate team status clearly
  • Continuously improve how the team works together

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years managing engineering teams
  • People-first leader
  • Strong communicator
  • Track record of retaining and developing strong engineers
  • Organized without being bureaucratic
  • Calm and clarity under pressure
  • Care about engineering craft
