Responsibilities
- Plan the Availability of the Royal Navy’s Submarines
- Optimise through life maintenance plans for the Royal Navy’s in service submarines.
- Analyse complex data, balance maintenance requirements against operational programmes.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across Babcock, the Ministry of Defence and industry partners.
- Support programme changes and “what if” scenarios to keep submarines safe, capable and available.
- Use a dedicated asset management tool to manage maintenance requirements through life.
- Collaborate with experts across Babcock, the Royal Navy, MOD and industry partners to optimise work packages.
- Contribute to the development of the through life boat plan application alongside the team.
Requirements
- Engineering experience with a solid understanding of maintenance requirements and planning.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
- Ability to produce clear technical reports and identify improvement opportunities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong IT skills and experience analysing data in Excel or similar tools.
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or HNC/HND with demonstrable relevant experience.
- Marine, defence or asset intensive industry experience is welcomed.
- The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
