About the role

  • Configuration Management Engineering Technician supporting naval shipbuilding projects with engineering documentation and configuration integrity. Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the shipbuilding community.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and execution of Configuration Management activities in line with project‑specific Configuration Management Plans.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the shipbuilding community.
  • Provide engineering support and advice relating to configuration accounts and technical documentation.
  • Ensure accurate configuration data is captured, maintained and accessible to support technical decision‑making.
  • Communicate progress effectively, raising potential risks and proposing solutions in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Using engineering documentation (drawings, technical records, etc.) to maintain configuration records.
  • Understanding change management principles and the control of technical or project documentation.
  • Experience with Ministry of Defence processes and publications (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management Plans and relevant industry or Defence Standards.
  • Familiarity with the CADMID product lifecycle or similar engineering frameworks.
  • ONC/BTEC Level 3 in a STEM discipline or working towards this through professional development.
  • The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
