About the role
- Senior Accountant responsible for financial reporting and compliance. Managing the Company’s general ledger and supporting SOX program initiatives within Axos Bank.
Responsibilities
- Preparing journal entries and maintaining the Company’s general ledger
- Assisting in designing controls for the Company’s SOX program
- Responsible for ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance
- Analyzing accruals and performing reconciliations
- Maintaining records of financial activity in accordance with GAAP
- Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use
- Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Researching technical accounting issues
Requirements
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the Company’s general ledger and third-party transactions
- Assist in designing controls for the Company’s SOX program
- Manage ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance
- Analyze accruals and perform reconciliations
- Maintain records of financial activity in accordance with GAAP and compliance with Section 404 of the SOX Act
- Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Ensure accuracy, validity, and completeness of documentation to meet regulatory requirements
- Research technical accounting issues
- Functional knowledge of operational systems
