About the role
- Product Developer/Merchandiser in furniture for Jonathan Adler’s off-price brand. Collaborating on design, merchandising strategy, and product development for compelling furniture assortments.
Responsibilities
- Lead seasonal assortment planning in partnership with Design and Sourcing
- Make agile, customer-specific assortment adjustments to address gaps, trends, and retailer feedback
- Partner closely with the Design team to translate seasonal concepts into commercially viable furniture assortments
- Merchandise new product concepts supplied by overseas vendors based on seasonal design direction
- Communicate product requirements and deliverables to our agent and vendor base
- Negotiate Costing and MOQ with vendors for new designs
- Review + action weekly Product Development trackers from overseas agents/vendors
- Ensure packaging and product quality meet company standards
- Monitor off-price market trends and competitive assortments
- Lead the merchandising and preparation of the showroom for market weeks
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product development and/or merchandising, preferably in furniture, home, or décor
- Strong understanding of off-price retail and pricing strategies
- Proven ability to balance design, cost, and speed to market
- Excellent cross-functional communication and vendor management skills
- Strong aesthetic sensibility aligned with the Jonathan Adler brand
