About the role
- Engineer - BESS at Aula Energy developing battery energy storage systems for renewable projects. Supporting design, construction, and operations of energy storage across Australia.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the project lifecycle from early development through construction and into operations and asset management
- Perform technical assessments for our energy storage and hybrid technology projects including preliminary designs, layout optimisations, tender activities, and ongoing asset performance assessments.
- Support technology selection and inputs to grid connection activities
- Provide technical inputs into Aula’s standards and procedures
- Coordinate external engineering advisors and subject matter experts
- Support procurement and tender evaluations including OEM reviews
- Participate in design reviews and support construction and commissioning
- Support performance optimisation through delivery and operations
- Contribute to management through the identification of technical and HSE risks
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 3–5 years’ experience working with BESS projects
- Advanced understanding of BESS technology, inverter performance and control systems
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Experience with techno-economic analysis will be viewed favourably
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and ability to engage with multi-disciplinary team members
