About the role
- Mechanical Engineering Student role supporting various mechanical engineering projects at AtkinsRéalis. Opportunities for hands-on experience in the nuclear industry and practical application of engineering principles.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to Mechanical Engineers, Discipline Leads, and Engineering Managers in day-to-day engineering activities and coordination
- Support in the development and assembly of engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional mechanical systems
- Assist in delivering work in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements
- Interface with multi-disciplines and other project sectors (Document Control, Project Management, field team) for coordination on assigned task scopes
- Collaborate with members of the nuclear team to facilitate the general workflow (e.g., coordinate document reviews and Request for Information (RFI) correspondences)
- Attend technical and project coordination meetings
Requirements
- Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Ability to apply learned principles in developing practical solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge/prior working experience in the nuclear industry is an asset
- Basic knowledge of analytical and design tools (MATLAB, MathCAD) is an asset
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong multi-tasking coordination skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Fluency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Adaptability to change
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering Program with an accredited Canadian University
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance is mandatory
