About the role
- Data Engineer managing data investigations and ETL processes for a dental PMS solution. Collaborating with teams to improve data quality and develop cloud-based services.
Responsibilities
- Data investigation (cloud vs on‑premises)
- Develop a deep understanding of schemas, tables, relationships, and business rules
- Investigate client issues related to data integrity in a dual‑source environment
- Explain the logic behind data evolution
- Produce reproducible analyses
- Collaborate with development, implementation, and support teams
- Participate in extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes of data into Dentitek
- Understand the different competing data sources encountered during migrations
- Contribute to improving migration tools and processes
- Perform cloud data analyses to support product and implementation teams
- Design and implement new services and pipelines based on cloud data engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a combination of relevant experience.
- Strong SQL skills and the ability to debug data issues (joins, aggregations, investigative queries).
- Understanding of relational databases (modeling, keys, constraints, query performance).
- Comfortable with at least one scripting language for data tasks (commonly Python).
- Proficient with Git and Git workflows.
- Problem-solving attitude and collaborative team spirit.
- Ability to work in French and English.
- Strong interest (or experience) in using AI tools to accelerate and improve work quality.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and/or SQL Anywhere (or similar on‑premises environments).
- Experience with synchronization issues (replication, CDC, transformation rules, latency).
- Experience in data migration and ETL pipelines (including validation and reconciliation).
- Experience with data‑oriented Python (DB connectors, quality testing, automation).
