About the role

  • Part-time Communications Coordinator supporting communications for Aspen Institute's Sports & Society program. Responsibilities include social media, website maintenance, and content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Create graphics and short videos for program communications
  • Draft and post written, image and video content on social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, etc.)
  • Design emails for monthly newsletters and other program blasts
  • Maintain and improve program websites (Sports & Society, Project Play, Project Play Colorado, Teamwork Toolkit, Healthy Sport Index, others TBD)
  • Use data analytics to improve communication outreach strategies
  • Support development of presentations, one-pagers, and decks for projects
  • Leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to support content creation, program efficiencies
  • Coordinate activities with consultants, photographers, and Institute comms staff, as needed
  • Coordinate activities with the communication teams of program partners
  • Edit content and draft social and other content, as needed
  • Organize files, drives, shared communication channels, and internal content calendar

Requirements

  • HS Diploma + 1-2 years experience, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong work ethic, ambition, optimistic attitude, and commitment to excellence
  • Excellent writing and professional communications skills
  • Ability to edit, proofread and write in program voice
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong computer skills, specifically expertise with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products; and graphic design software including Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Experience managing social media, newsletters, or website content
  • Familiarity and enthusiasm for use of AI tools to develop content
  • Creative problem-solving skills and professional and polished interpersonal skills
  • Strong interest and appreciation for sports and its role in society
  • Familiarity with concepts and institutional language of Sports & Society Program activities
  • A desire to learn, a sense of humor, flexibility, and resourcefulness
