About the role

  • Application Engineer responsible for installing and configuring Ascom Healthcare solutions. Collaborating within a cross-functional team to enhance healthcare workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on responsibility: You install, configure and integrate solutions based on the Ascom Healthcare Platform.
  • Collaborative teamwork: Together with colleagues from Engineering, Project Management and Customer Service, you develop stable and high‑performance system solutions that are precisely tailored to our customers' requirements.
  • Learning and growth: You deepen your technical skills in a regulated and safety‑critical environment.
  • Visible impact: Your projects help optimize workflows in hospitals and care facilities and improve patient safety.

Requirements

  • You have completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration or application development, a degree in medical informatics, or an equivalent qualification.
  • You have 2 years of professional experience in IT — for example with installation, configuration and operation of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V) and SQL troubleshooting.
  • You are familiar with networks and protocols, in particular LAN, WLAN, routing, switching, EMM/MDM, TCP/IP and HL7.
  • You understand the regulatory requirements for medical devices and the principles of data security.
  • Ideally, you hold certifications such as MCSE, CCNP or other network-related certifications.
  • You understand IT data security requirements and best practices.
  • Ideally, you have experience with IT solutions in the medical environment.
  • You demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
  • You speak German fluently and ideally have good English skills — which facilitates collaboration in international teams.
  • You hold a class B driving license to allow on-site work at customer locations.
