About the role

  • Entry-level Environmental Engineer at Arcadis focusing on environmental assessment and remediation projects. Collaborating with technical experts and managing diverse environmental challenges in a dynamic workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) with planning and performing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Civil/Environmental engineering design including land development planning, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design
  • Assist with developing permit/construction-level drawings and details, preparing technical specifications, and construction cost evaluation/estimating
  • Prepare subcontracts and oversee the work of subcontractors.
  • Perform fieldwork with a focus on health and safety and which may include soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, geotechnical investigations, and construction oversight.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
  • Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • EIT Certification (preferred)
  • Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science) (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (preferred)
  • Experience with engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS (preferred)
