Responsibilities
Project and task management on projects ranging from small to large complex remediation projects, including team assignments and coordination, client interaction, and production of deliverables.
Preparation of work plans, design documents, and supporting deliverables, including remedial investigation and feasibility study reports.
Performing engineering analyses/evaluations for a range of multi-disciplinary projects including upland remediation, sediment remediation, waterfront development, restoration, and source control projects.
Technical writing to support the preparation of sampling and analysis plans, remedial investigation and feasibility study reports, and design documents.
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of environmental and engineering data
Mentoring and training of junior staff on engineering principles and design, depending on existing experience and level
Requirements
BS or MS degree in relevant field (e.g., Civil or Environmental Engineering)
15 to 20 years of relevant work experience
Experience with upland and in-water remediation sites, including the planning and implementation of sampling, data analysis, feasibility studies, and remedial design.
Experience with New York State Technical Guidance for Site Investigation and Remediation (DER-10).
Experience with CERCLA and RCRA regulations and application to various stages of a remediation project.
Experience working with regulators (USEPA, USACE, and/or State regulators).
Experience with Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) site remediation a plus.
Risk assessment experience a plus.
Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability obtain within one year
Proficiency in MS Office.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification (CFR 1910.120) a plus.
