About the role
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Variance analysis of actual performance, including cost reconciliations and profit variances
- Supporting business budgeting and forecasting, including cash flow
- Revenue recognition and WIP reconciliation
- Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
- Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations and identification of potential issues
- Business partnering with overhead functions to manage cost base
- Ad-hoc financial analysis to support business strategy and performance
- Preparation of information for Group Finance and external auditors as required
Requirements
- Relevant finance qualification (e.g., ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Previous management accountancy experience in a similar environment
- Experience of business partnering
- Knowledge of accounting practices and reporting requirements, experience with IFRS15 is an advantage
- Organisation and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of a relevant accounting system, preferably SAP
- Experience of working within Infrastructure environment, preferably Highways, Rail or Construction
