About the role

  • Qualified Mental Health Therapist providing therapy and community resources to clients; supporting youth and families in various settings.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy and support to clients on the waitlist; in their homes, in the community, or via telehealth
  • Provide crisis intervention and clinical coverage when situations require it
  • Connect clients and families with vital community resources and services
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and clinical supervisors to ensure smooth transitions and high-quality care
  • Strengthening relationships with referral sources, community partners, and other stakeholders
  • Lead or contribute to outreach, education, and marketing efforts that promote Amethyst’s programs

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
  • At least one year of post-graduate counseling experience
  • Bilingual/Spanish fluency is a PLUS
  • A flexible, adaptable mindset — you see change as an opportunity for growth
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment, especially in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • A confident communicator with outstanding written and verbal communication skills — able to connect effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and community partners
  • Interpersonal skills that foster mutual trust, respect, and collaboration
  • Self-motivation and initiative; you take ownership of your work and follow through
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team environment
  • Comfort providing services in the community (must have reliable transportation)
  • Experience supporting youth and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships across the community
