About the role
- Materials Controller ensuring right materials are available at the right time for project needs at Amentum. Responsible for inventory accuracy and efficient material handling in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed
- Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and site teams to schedule deliveries and manage lead times
- Track and record all incoming and outgoing materials using inventory systems
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials in line with safety and quality standards
- Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to forecast material requirements
- Identify and report any issues with material quality, shortages, or delays
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in material management and logistics
- Maintain documentation for audits and compliance purposes
- Assist in the disposal or return of surplus or defective materials
Requirements
- Proven experience in material control, inventory management, or logistics
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Familiarity with inventory software and ERP systems
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to material handling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Forklift or other relevant licenses (desirable)
