- Defence Commercial and Contracts Manager overseeing contract performance and management for Defence projects. Engaging stakeholders and delivering training while ensuring compliance with Defence policies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Contract Management Plans, ensuring alignment with project objectives and Defence policies.
- Conduct contract performance reviews, identifying risks, issues and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate, review and assess supplier deliverables to ensure contractual and technical compliance.
- Complete, review and endorse key commercial documentation including procurement artefacts, commercial letters, contractual notices and evaluation reports.
- Develop and manage commercial, contract and procurement strategies/documentation in accordance with Defence policies and ASDEFCON requirements.
- Draft and develop Noting and Decision Briefs to support governance and approval processes.
- Engage effectively with internal Defence stakeholders, industry partners and senior leadership to support project outcomes.
- Provide specialist commercial and procurement advice to project teams and decision makers.
- Support Phase In and Phase Out activities, ensuring seamless contract transitions.
- Deliver training to Defence personnel on procurement methodologies, contracting options, and tender development processes.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Commerce, Business, Finance, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- Prior and demonstrated experience with ASDEFCON and Defence procurement processes.
- A minimum of 8+ years’ commercial experience within the Defence sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to operate within complex organisational structures.
- High level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Hold an active NV1 Security Clearance. Must be an Australian citizen and cannot be a former citizen or permanent resident of a prescribed nation.
