About the role

  • Aerothermal Engineer providing expertise to NASA's Langley Research Center for aerothermodynamic environments. Requires extensive experience in crewed space flight capsules and engineering database development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Research, Science and Engineering Services (RSES) contract at NASA Langley Research Center
  • Participate in human space flight aero sciences panels
  • Work on entry aero heating, boundary layer transition correlations, and surface roughness engineering correlation databases

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in aerothermodynamic environments of crewed space flight capsules
  • 10 or more years of experience working with engineering database development
  • Demonstrated experience participating in human space flight aero sciences panels and working groups
  • PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field (desired)
