About the role

  • Intern working on software engineering at Alice & Bob, developing features for a quantum computer. Collaborating with physicists and contributing to innovative projects.

Responsibilities

  • Join the Software Engineering team for a 6-month internship, starting ideally in June 2026.
  • Work closely with experimental physicists who conduct research on cat qubits.
  • Contribute to Alice & Bob’s ambitious roadmap directly.
  • Start by gaining a deep understanding of the code base for our core simulation framework.
  • Involved in the complete life cycle of a feature: interviewing expert users, understanding needs, implementing, testing and deploying the feature.
  • Engage in meaningful work within a positive environment that fosters growth and learning.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end simulation framework including developing features and fixing bugs.

Requirements

  • You are currently enrolled in the final year of your Master's degree in Engineering**
  • Practical experience with Python.
  • Practical experience with Git.
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with GPU programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with standard engineering best practices (e.g., testing, tooling, CI/CD) is a plus.
  • A scientific background (in physics and/or electronics) is a plus.
