About the role
- Senior Infrastructure Engineer responsible for the technical evolution of hybrid infrastructure. Joining a leading startup in quantum computing to innovate and solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Architecture and design: Design infrastructure solutions tailored to our quantum measurement requirements and define technical standards.
- Strategic projects: Lead high-impact initiatives including:
- • Migrating JupyterHub to Kubernetes for our data science workflows
- • Consolidating and optimizing internal clusters
- • Implementing scalability solutions to meet growing quantum measurement resource demands
- • Evolving and improving time-stamping infrastructure
- • Migrating legacy applications from Docker to Kubernetes
- Infrastructure management: Implement and maintain servers that support our quantum operations.
- Observability: Complete deployment of our monitoring stack (node-exporter, Prometheus, Grafana) across the infrastructure.
- Innovation: Propose and implement solutions to support rapid company growth and evolving quantum computing needs.
- Technical advisory: Provide infrastructure guidance to teams and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure and systems engineering.
- Core expertise: Linux (Ubuntu), system architecture, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Strong Python skills for scripting, automation, and code review.
- Experience administering and deploying JupyterHub is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable architectures for high-performance computing workloads.
- Hands-on experience operating and maintaining Kubernetes in production environments.
- Experience managing hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
- Familiarity with infrastructure best practices, including monitoring, high availability, and security.
- Comfortable working autonomously, pragmatic, and proactive.
