About the role

• IT Program Manager overseeing complex IT project delivery for U.S. Geological Survey. Ensuring compliance and strategic planning with government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Manage federal contracts (e.g., FFP, T&M, CPFF), ensuring all activities align with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and specific agency supplemental regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Build and maintain collaborative relationships with vendors and inter-agency departments.
• Prepare and present comprehensive status reports, including Monthly Status Reports (MSRs), project schedules, and financial burn rate analysis for senior leadership and government clients.
• Assign responsibilities to cross-functional teams and monitor progress through rigorous performance metrics and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
• Proactively identify project bottlenecks or compliance risks and implement corrective actions to ensure mission success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project/program management, specifically within the federal contracting environment.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or DAWIA Level III certification is highly preferred.
• Deep familiarity with IT frameworks (Agile, SDLC, ITIL) and federal security standards (NIST, FISMA).
• Must be able to obtain or currently possess a Public Trust, Secret, or Top Secret security clearance as required by the contract.
