About the role

  • Contract Manager with extensive experience in construction and energy projects at AGL. Leading commercial outcomes and managing risks while collaborating with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end‑to‑end contract and commercial leadership across major construction and energy projects.
  • Managing and administering major contracts including EPC, O&M, split contracts and other delivery models.
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
  • Leading the resolution of escalated contractual issues and disputes.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of contracting strategies.
  • Partnering closely with Portfolio Directors, Senior Project Managers, legal, technical and project delivery teams.
  • Preparing and presenting contract status reports, KPIs, risks and contractor performance insights to senior leaders.
  • Supporting sourcing activities, tender processes and contract finalisation during the construction phase.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture for employees and contractors, aligned with AGL values.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, Business, Law or Quantity Surveying, with additional certifications highly regarded.
  • Ideally 10 years’ experience in a similar contract or commercial management role.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large‑scale, high‑value construction or energy infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive end‑to‑end experience in contract strategy development, negotiation, formation and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and energy contracting models, including EPC and O&M arrangements.
  • Proven capability managing claims, disputes and complex commercial negotiations.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and key stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to translate business objectives into effective contracting outcomes.
  • Experience operating effectively in highly regulated, complex organisational environments.
