Hardware Test Engineer responsible for developing and executing hardware test strategies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams at QSC to ensure product reliability and compliance.
Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive hardware test plans, test cases, and validation strategies for analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits.
Design automated and manual test setups to validate PCBs, subsystems, and complete products.
Perform root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other lab equipment.
Conduct HALT/HASS, environmental stress tests, thermal cycling, vibration, and long‑term reliability, system tests and analysis.
Evaluate product robustness and identify potential design weaknesses early in the development cycle.
Develop automated test scripts using Python.
Implement data collection, monitoring, and reporting methods to improve test coverage and product insights.
Maintain test fixtures, custom tooling, and instrumentation used in product validation.
Partner with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to influence design‑for‑testability (DFT) and design‑for‑reliability (DFR).
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or any related discipline.
3+ years of experience in hardware test, validation, or hardware development.
Strong hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, audio analyzers, and other electronic measurement tools.
Ability to design basic custom circuits and PCBAs and develop custom test fixtures to support test automation.
Proficient in reading schematics, interpreting datasheets, and understanding electronic circuit behavior.
Experience with Python, and learn and adapt to custom home grown test automation frameworks.
Willingness to travel as required to support NPI projects, or provide remote support for test stations during new product launches and sustaining activities.
