About the role
- Purchaser for electronic components in a hybrid role at a telecommunications company. Responsible for procurement processes and supplier negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct price negotiations, contract discussions and delivery schedule coordination with suppliers
- Oversee procurement of materials across all part groups and ensure optimal inventory levels
- Review and approve purchase orders and manage supplier communication, including supplier evaluation and selection
- Lead a team of up to 10 purchasers and administrative staff
- Promote a collaborative and efficient working environment
- Drive continuous improvement through regular performance reviews and market analyses
- Conduct annual negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable terms
- Ensure long-term, sustainable supplier relationships and monitor market trends regarding price developments and new products
- Provide strategic input on inventory management, product substitution and clearance strategies
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable purchasing experience
- Expertise with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Proven experience in purchasing electronic components
- Degree or comparable qualification in business administration, electronics or a related field
- Strong affinity for technical processes and products
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
- Strategic thinker with strong planning and organizational abilities
- Flexible and willing to travel, with travel availability of approximately 10%
