About the role
- Family Support Specialist conducting family services based on case plans by the Department of Health and Human Services. Focused on preventing abuse, neglect, and family reunification in Colorado.
Responsibilities
- This role will be working with families to provide direction, coaching, and motivation to achieve the goals set by DHHS, their therapist and the court.
- Establish an effective partnership with the assigned therapist to support families with their treatment plan goals.
- Maintain consistent and open communication with the DHHS CFS, their therapist and your supervisor about your work with the families.
- Ensuring that professional working relationships are created with families within your scope of duties and training.
- Guide families through crisis situations and ability to guide families through finding resources to meet referral goals from state.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to transport families to and from visitation sessions.
- Submit written incident reports within 24 hours and submit service documentation and mileage for all cases within 36 hours of providing the service with families.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be fluent in Spanish/English including reading, writing, and verbally
- Must be able to work minimum 1 weekend day/week and evenings.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to transport families to and from visitation sessions.
- Bachelors degree preferred, if not, at least two years of human services or working with kids or families in any capacity.
- Clear criminal history and no more than three points assessed on driving record.
- Must be able to effectively document visits.
- Able to build rapport with families.
- Solid communication skills, via phone and email.
