About the role

  • Overseeing hotel operations and managing department heads on cruise ships. Responsibilities include guest relations, inventory management, and quality assurance while ensuring high service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support department heads in the hotel division to ensure optimal collaboration and smooth onboard operations
  • Responsible for ordering in the Food & Beverage area, including checking and inventorying deliveries to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Prepare cruise reports, analyze guest feedback, and handle special requests and complaints to continuously improve service
  • Make decisions regarding cabin assignments and upgrades to provide guests with the best possible experience
  • Manage the ship's cashbox and oversee money transfers to ensure financial transparency and security
  • Monitor revenues and costs and continuously optimize onboard sales
  • Act as host and conduct regular audits to ensure high quality standards onboard
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify and develop talent to cultivate future leaders within the company
  • Work closely with HR and plan internal staffing
  • Manage all internal documentation and ensure budget compliance across all departments
  • Organize and lead regular department head meetings to foster clear communication and collaboration

Requirements

  • Successfully completed vocational training in the hospitality sector and a business-related qualification (at minimum hotel management school)
  • Proven leadership experience and at least two years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • Knowledge of Fidelio Cruise and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent German and English language skills (French desirable, especially for itineraries in France)
  • River ship or ocean-going experience advantageous
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and customer focus
  • Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic environment
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and decisiveness
