About the role
- Financial Management Analyst III at Duke University School of Nursing managing the budget process and financial reporting for the School’s strategic goals. Collaborating with senior leadership to provide actionable insights and financial analyses.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the School’s annual budget process, including submission, review, and adjustments
- Plan, develop, and maintain recommendations for adjustments to ensure short and long-term financial needs are met
- Serve as primary liaison in preparing budget in coordination with management center and university deadlines
- Prepare annual tuition market analysis and related graphs
- Prepare personnel-related budget items (including effort distribution) with the Senior Business Manager
- Prepare regular reports on performance of School against budget and highlight areas of concern
- Identify areas of financial risk, propose mitigation strategies, and assist with implementation
- Create, model, and propose financing strategies to improve financial performance
- Provide financial reconciliation and analytical reporting for tuition revenue and enrollment projections
- Review monthly reports from Operations Financial Analyst to assure accuracy and provide feedback for improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Six years of experience in financial management, cost accounting, or a related area
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Expertise in multi-level, complex budgeting processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling)
- Experience with Adaptive Insights and SAP
- Ability to integrate AI into financial reporting
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills
