About the role

  • Responsible for underwriting, business development, producer management and underwriting compliance of E&S Casualty in the Western Region.
  • Underwrite both primary and excess layers.
  • Develop strong relationships with Wholesale producers to successfully manage regional business.
  • Monitor/influence and consistently execute departmental underwriting strategies to develop and maintain a profitable book.
  • Provide training and/or mentorship for junior members of the team

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of Casualty experience, preferably within the wholesale marketplace and with both primary and excess layers
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Risk Management
  • Strong technical underwriting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively prioritize work with ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
