About the role

  • Oversee all financial operations for Profoundry and its four integrated organizations (Delphi, GLOBE Series, CBSR, Leading Change)
  • Report directly to the CEO and serve as member of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Set financial best practices and provide strategic and functional guidance supporting growth
  • Lead and coach finance team (two FTEs to date) and manage external financial resources and partners
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: develop rolling 12-month budgets, update quarterly forecasts, provide monthly updates and analysis, cash flow forecasting and capital expenditure planning
  • Operational Accounting: oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, semi-monthly payroll
  • Cash Flow Management: review weekly cash flow, improve short and long-term cash flow, identify grants/funding opportunities
  • Financial Reporting: review complex balance sheet reconciliations, oversee monthly close, prepare monthly reporting packages and quarterly board presentations, maintain reporting by business segment, ensure government reporting compliance, liaise with external accountants for audits
  • Strategic Direction: refine internal controls, enhance business systems, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, develop decision-making framework and financial plans to support growth and financing
  • Sustainable Finance & Strategic Advisory: participate as senior advisor on high-profile financial projects, support design and rollout of sustainable finance services, represent the organization externally as thought leader
  • Support project delivery on sustainable finance initiatives and engage in market dialogue
  • Support corporate finance and governance matters including tax strategy, external financing, management shareholders and planning for growth

Requirements

  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
  • At least 15 years’ relevant financial accounting experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in budgeting and financial planning
  • Experience with a successful finance transformation project (e.g. Sage to a cloud based accounting system)
  • Experience reducing reliance on Excel based performance management to an ERP or other data management and process automation system(s)
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Excellent presentation skills, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills using Excel and other O365 platforms
  • Knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, provincial statutes
  • Experience in sustainable or responsible investment, or project delivery with a consulting firm is a strong asset
  • Experience within a consulting environment or experience with project accounting would be an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset
