About the role

• Test Developer in Energy IT for Deutsche Börse Group shaping energy trading systems. Involves collaboration, testing, and automation to ensure quality in a pivotal role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand new product features and define meaningful test scenarios.
• Design and execute functional test cases, both manual and automated.
• Develop new and automate existing test cases.
• Ensure compliance with product testing standards.
• Participate in code reviews with focus on testability.
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business-critical workflows and trading scenarios.
• Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and usability issues.
• Document test results clearly and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to team discussions with a quality-first mindset.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of software testing principles and agile methodologies.
• Passion for software quality, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Ability to write or understand tests written in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Cucumber, kotlin.test).
• Ability to analyze complex systems and identify potential risks or gaps.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Nice to have: Exposure to tools like GitHub, Docker, Jenkins, Grafana, Kibana.
• Knowledge of event streaming and messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with build tools (e.g., Gradle, Maven).
