About the role

  • Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in network design and management at Digital Consultants. Supporting complex telecommunications and LAN/WAN systems for DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, and VoIP architectures supporting enterprise operations.
  • Manage routing/switching, VLANs, IPv6 migration, DNS/DHCP, and network segmentation.
  • Integrate network solutions with Cisco ISE, Catalyst Center, Ansible, INFOBLOX, Splunk, Axonius, and NetScout tools.
  • Perform network performance analysis, optimization, and fault isolation.
  • Provide Tier III support for incident resolution, including 24/7/365 on-call rotation.
  • Ensure STIG, DISA, and DoD cybersecurity compliance.
  • Create and maintain network documentation, testing procedures, and implementation guides.
  • Mentor junior engineers and assist with certification readiness.

Requirements

  • Clearance: SECRET with a Tier 5/SSBI (Top Secret) Background Investigation (critical sensitive).
  • Certifications: DoD 8140 Baseline Certification: IAT Level I AND at least one Computing Environment (CE) certification, such as CCSA, CCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, RHCSA, RHCE, WSHAA, or AZ-104.
  • Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification is strongly desired.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: At least seven (7) years of network operations experience, with a strong focus on telecommunications and LAN/WAN environments.
  • Higher-level education or military service may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience.
  • Proven ability to lead teams across geographically dispersed facilities.
  • Expertise in carrier-based WAN services, wireless voice/data networks, and VoIP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high-quality technical reports and presentations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving complex network issues.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to interface with senior government and contractor stakeholders.
