Requirements
- 8–12+ years building production software; 3–5+ years in an architect/staff/lead role.
- Proven distributed systems design: APIs (REST/GraphQL), event-driven patterns (queues/pub-sub, retries, DLQs, idempotency).
- Public speaking/tech writing; Experience in mentoring engineers., leading teams, looking around corners, devops experience, history of driving efficiency and optimization. Ability to simplify architecture and systems.
- AWS depth across: ECS Fargate or Lambda; API Gateway/ALB; RDS/Aurora (Postgres); ElastiCache/Redis; SQS/EventBridge; CloudFront/WAF; IAM.
- Strong in .NET/C# (primary) and comfortable with Node/TypeScript (secondary); solid testing practices.
- Data modeling and integration: relational schemas, caching strategies, versioned data contracts (events/APIs), migration playbooks.
- Reliability & observability: define SLOs/SLIs, instrument logs/metrics/traces (Datadog/CloudWatch), burn-rate alerts, incident response.
- CI/CD & IaC: CircleCI (or similar), Terraform, artifact/version management, blue/green or canary deploys.
- Security & privacy: least-privilege IAM, KMS encryption, secret management (Secrets Manager/SSM), PII handling/redaction.
- Excellent written design docs/ADRs, architecture diagrams, and cross-functional communication (Product, Ops, Support).
