Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns and supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
Support quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
Assist with tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s effective tax rate and identify tax-saving opportunities.
Prepare supporting documentation for estimated tax payments and extensions.
Assist with indirect tax compliance, including sales/use tax, franchise tax, property tax, and other business-related filings.
Coordinate with external tax advisors on complex tax issues and audits.
Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain and update tax workpapers, processes, and internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting.
Assist with process improvements and automation initiatives related to tax functions.
Partner with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Finance, and Sales Operations to support tax aspects of business decisions and contracts.
Research and document tax technical issues and changes in tax legislation to ensure company compliance.
Coordinate audit requests for both internal and external audits related to tax matters.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus.
2+ years prior relevant experience in tax accounting gained in industry and/or public accounting.
Experience in a software or SaaS company preferred.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes).
Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience with NetSuite or similar tax software is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial/tax software applications.
Experience/familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal control documentation.
