About the role
- Geotechnical Engineer responsible for tailings management and design at BGC Engineering. Leading teams and ensuring compliance in tailings storage facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Function as a tailings storage facility Engineer of Record (EoR)
- Lead an existing multi-disciplinary team to design and support the construction and operation of a tailings storage facility (TSF)
Requirements
- Demonstrated competency and experience working in tailings management
- Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in North America
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in tailings management, dam design, or mining geotechnique
- Current knowledge of applicable regulations, including the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM)
- Experienced in all phases of tailings projects: site investigation, design, construction, operations, and closure
- Strong leadership, analytical, project management, and communication skills
- Maintain a valid passport and be willing to travel as required for project work
