Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, troubleshooting technical issues, configuring systems, and ensuring smooth operation across deployments.
- Involve regular communication with clients, mapping requirements to platform capabilities, and proactive monitoring of systems.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of electronic trading environments and the tools used by financial institutions.
- Configure applications to meet customer requirements.
- Work with Unix to configure low-latency servers to run P2D Analytics.
- Troubleshoot issues with application installations.
- Solve network problems using tools like P2D Analytics.
- Perform health checks and proactively monitor installations.
Requirements
- Technical proficiency in electronic trading systems (Market Data and Order Entry).
- Experience using tcpdump and/or Wireshark.
- Understanding Ethernet, IP, TCP, and UDP.
- Experience with Protocol Decoders.
- Manipulating Unix filesystems (creating directories, editing files, etc).
- Checking the health of a system using tools like top, free, ps, etc.
- System tuning using kernel boot parameters and tools such as ethtool and sysctl.
- Experience in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Ability to read log files and act accordingly.
- Editing XML, JSON, and ENV files.
- Understanding of REST APIs and web-based systems.
- Strong research, writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changeable working environment.
