About the role
- Strategic Sourcing Manager responsible for sourcing strategies in aerospace and defense markets. Collaborating with suppliers and teams to ensure cost-effective material supply.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers capable of meeting A&D and high-reliability electronics requirements.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and long-term supply arrangements to optimize value and mitigate risk.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and long-term programs.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed to meet delivery, quality, and compliance expectations.
- Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors to inform sourcing decisions and support make-versus-buy analyses.
- Develop key supplier partnerships to drive innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and customer requirements, including ITAR, DFARS, AS9100, and other aerospace/defense standards.
- Provide reporting and analysis on sourcing activities to support executive decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management experience, ideally in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Proven experience in managing complex supply chains with global suppliers.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain digital tools.
