About the role

  • Reconcile and analyze general ledger and operating accounts.
  • Collaboration with departmental units.
  • Financial statement preparations and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations.
  • Identify and research variances.
  • Responsible for components of year end audit and financial statement preparation.
  • Responsible for compliance reporting requirements.
  • Act as coach and mentor for accounting staff and external departmental users.
  • Setting up and maintaining chart of accounts elements for grant funds.
  • Review and close inactive elements.
  • Establish and monitor grant accounts in financial system.
  • Research and compile financial reporting data quarterly or semi-annually.
  • Prepare and submit grant billings in compliance with the approved budget.
  • Closeout grant accounts as needed.
  • Evaluate account for balances in accounts receivable.
  • Communicate with Principal Investigator if balance or overdraft exists.
  • Prepare final financial status reports as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; at least 3 years of experience.
  • Master's degree; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Advanced accounting principles.
  • Excel experience.
  • Reporting software and complex accounting software.
  • Grant experience.
  • Familiar with data analysis, research and reporting tools.
