About the role

• Lead a Corporate IT engineering team to deliver internal Finance, Investments, and Compliance software. Hybrid role at Sentry, a mutual insurance company.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a team of software engineers and product analysts within Corporate IT
• Drive delivery of internal-facing software solutions supporting Finance, Investments, Compliance, and enterprise operations
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timeline constraints and aligned with product vision
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define product vision that aligns with business objectives and strategy
• Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality control processes to maintain high software quality, performance and resiliency
• Build a cohesive team, assign tasks, provide guidance, mentorship, and ensure team members have resources to succeed
• Administer human resource-related activities including timely performance and salary reviews and ensure adherence to HR policies and practices

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience
• Minimum 2 years experience in a team lead, tech lead, or management role preferred
• Strong blend of technical expertise and leadership skills
• In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
• Ability to communicate, both written and presentation
• Proven system design, architecture, and delivery of scalable software solutions
• Experience with agile development processes
