Responsibilities
Foster a culture where AI tools are used as a natural first step in engineering work, helping engineers build effective habits around AI-generated development and adopt an AI-first mindset for exploration, prototyping, iteration, and delivery
Foster an environment where engineers thrive through increased scope, ownership, and impact, while supporting strong performance and long-term growth
Build and nurture a high-performing, self-organizing team with strong ownership, engagement, and accountability, while helping hire top talent and develop future leaders
Ensure the tribe’s vision, strategy, and goals are aligned with company objectives, acting as a bridge between leadership and the team to support alignment and execution
Be accountable for the engineering team’s contribution to measurable customer and business impact (e.g. adoption, reliability, usage)
Collaborate closely with business and product counterparts and other stakeholders to shape roadmaps, guide architectural decisions, and drive alignment on strategic priorities
Champion a quality-first mindset, ensuring strong engineering practices, performance, and operational excellence
Identify delivery bottlenecks, manage risks proactively, and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and timely delivery
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetups, fostering partnerships and serving as a role model for engineers and managers
Requirements
A solid background in software engineering, with 3+ years of experience in a leadership role in the tech industry as an Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or in a similar people leadership role
Ability to lead, develop, and support software engineers through clear expectations, regular feedback, coaching, and performance management
Strong product mindset, with a focus on understanding customer problems and partnering effectively with product counterparts
Proven ability to drive delivery and continuously improve how teams execute against a defined roadmap
Practical experience in using AI tools and workflows and openness to growing into an AI-native way of working
Ability to lead by example with a hands-on leadership style, staying close to the team’s technical work and challenges
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align across engineering, product, and design teams
Experience with hiring and growing engineering talent, including supporting career development and identifying future leaders
You understand the value of standardization and process, while staying driven to improve them where possible
