About the role

  • Software Engineer developing ESPN tvOS applications in Swift for Disney. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers while managing project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the ESPN tvOS in Swift
  • Collaborating with a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Designers, Mobile/Web/Backend Engineers, and Content Creators to conceptualize and develop world-class ESPN apps
  • Managing individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions
  • Architecting reusable solutions that are shared across both the mobile and tv ESPN apps
  • Leading others to solve complex problems and providing oversight and direction to other software engineers
  • Responsible for architectural decisions for the connected tv application
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to engineers reporting directly to you and performing end of year reviews

Requirements

  • 3+ years hands-on professional experience with iOS/tvOS development
  • Experience with tvOS-specific functionality including the Focus Engine, SIRI Remote, and the Top Shelf
  • Experience working on a significant consumer app that is currently available in the marketplace
  • Experience building video-based applications with knowledge of the AVKit
  • Demonstrated ability to design and build dynamic multi-threaded iOS/tvOS apps
  • Required Education: BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent
