About the role

• Backend engineer designing and implementing resilient data and application architecture for Q2's digital banking risk and fraud products. Collaborate cross-functionally, maintain CI/CD, mentor teammates.

Responsibilities

• Embedded on the team creating the product line, focusing on backend systems.
• Responsible for developing the data and application architecture.
• Design, implement, integrate, and test software solutions of moderate complexity, with a focus on high availability and resiliency.
• Work independently and collaborate across teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions to production systems.
• Support, maintain, and resolve problems in products and features.
• Ensure adherence to all security, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls.
• Assist and mentor teammates to provide technical leadership and evangelize best practices.

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent related work experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with pyspark or Snowpark is nice to have.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with dbt is nice to have.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building applications using a cloud-native, service-oriented architecture.
• Experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle.
• Nice to have experience: airflow, Snowflake, docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab.
• This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
