About the role
- Senior ABAP Developer responsible for SAP configuration and enhancements while supporting KION SCS projects. Handling complex IT solutions and collaborating across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Performs planning, analysis, designing, requirements definition, functional design, development, testing and implementation of IT solutions.
- Provides support for difficult and complex system environments.
- Coordinates activities simultaneously for multiple projects.
- Uses IT Agile methodology effectively when performing all tasks.
- Meets with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
- Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Creates systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to application developers.
- Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Conducts research on software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 + years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
- Experience working in SAP S/4 HANA environment (at least 1+ years) beyond Proof of Concept / Demo Sandbox system is preferred/desirable.
- Experience developing software using Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Solid experience in ABAP/4 programming language, Object Oriented ABAP.
- CI and Fiori backend development
- Experience with SAP’s development framework including UI5 / Fiori.
- Experience with Smart Forms and development of Adobe forms.
- Expertise in debugging and performance tuning techniques for SAP application.
- Solid understanding of SAP’s Enhancement Framework.
- Experience in developing SAP IDOCs, RFCs, BAPIs, BADIs, BTEs, Validations & Substitutions along with Customer User-Exits.
- Experience working with ABAP Proxies, Webservices, OData Services and CDS views.
- Working knowledge in standards / technologies that enable integrations like XML, WSDL, SOAP, REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of Master Data Objects and their lifecycle within SAP S/4 HANA is preferred/desirable.
- Experience integrating SAP applications with middleware software systems – SAP BTP Integration Suite, SAP CPI, SAP PO is preferred/desirable.
- SAP certification on ABAP / ABAP on HANA 2.0 is preferred/desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle.
- End-to-end understanding of at least one Business Process Stream, preferably Production Planning, Quality Control or Product Lifecycle Management.
