Responsibilities
Lead State-of-the-Art Research: Invent and implement computer vision and generative AI algorithms that push the boundaries of the field. Stay abreast of the latest advances in deep learning, visual reasoning, and large-scale data processing
Design Scalable Real-Time Systems: Create models that can reliably handle input from thousands of always-on video cameras, running at scale 24/7, and extract actionable insights around safety issues
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with software engineering, cloud, and ML operations teams to optimize data ingestion, model retraining, and redeployment flows across large-scale infrastructures
Consult on Customer Solutions: Advise Sales, Customer, and Field Engineering teams in defining and customizing solutions to meet complex client requirements
Contribute to Product Evolution: Transfer research findings into production, contributing to the continuous improvement of our cutting-edge platform
Drive Continuous Innovation: Shape Voxel’s vision for deploying generative AI to solve industrial and enterprise-scale computer vision problems, using millions of videos to find patterns and deliver actionable insights to customers.
Requirements
Educational Background:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field + 5 years of professional experience; OR Master’s degree in a relevant field + 3 years of professional experience; OR PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a similar area.
Deep Learning & Computer Vision Expertise: Proven experience in building and deploying deep learning models (e.g., convolutional neural networks, visual reasoning architectures) for large-scale image or video analysis.
Practical Experience at Scale: Hands-on track record in processing and extracting insights from large video datasets (e.g., millions of video).
Research-to-Product Transition: Demonstrated ability to translate innovative computer vision, machine perception, or machine learning research into shipping products or real-world applications.
Generative AI Exposure: Familiarity with generative models and techniques, with a passion for applying them to real-world computer vision and safety use cases.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to lead cross-functional discussions and clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
