About the company
The Savanna Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to lay the groundwork for widespread agroforestry in the Midwest US.
We work in collaboration with farmers and scientists to develop perennial food and fodder crops within multifunctional polyculture systems grounded in ecology and inspired by the savanna biome.
With new staff, expanded programs, and a wider reach, 2018 was a big year for the Savanna Institute.
We are continuing to build momentum in our three core focus areas of tree crop development, farming systems, and stakeholder education in 2019.
We are devoted to catalyzing perennial farms and resilient communities that sequester carbon, clean water, and support biodiversity.
