Responsibilities
SCRa Analytical and Research Support (60%)
Liaison: Act as the primary on-site liaison between SCRa member institutions and Digital Science’s Academic Engagement and Product teams.
Data Delivery: Provide analytical and data support to SCRa and participating institutions, including reports, data extracts, and visualizations based on Dimensions Research Security.
Research Evaluation: Support research evaluation, landscape analysis, and benchmarking activities across portfolios, institutions, and research domains.
Methodology Development: Develop, test, and refine Boolean search strategies and methodologies for representing research topics and emerging fields.
Data Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of Dimensions’ linked datasets (publications, grants, patents, policy, etc.) and their use in research security, strategy, and evaluation.
Collaboration: Collaborate with SCRa and Digital Science colleagues to identify key metrics, trends, and opportunities in the regional research ecosystem.
Engagement, Training, and Implementation (40%)
Lead Training: Lead training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs for Dimensions users.
Feedback Loop: Capture and synthesize user feedback to inform product improvements and future engagement strategy.
Outreach: Promote awareness of new features, best practices, and responsible data use across the regional research community.
Engagement: Support the broader Digital Science Academic Engagement team in coordinating renewal, upsell, and satisfaction initiatives.
Requirements
Analytical Background: 3+ years of experience in research analytics, evaluation, bibliometrics, science policy, or related fields.
Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the research and innovation ecosystem, including funders, research institutions, and government organizations.
Data & Presentation: Proficiency in research data (publications, grants, patents) and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly, Tableau, matplotlib).
Training & Communication: Proven experience designing and delivering interactive training and engagement sessions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated capacity for empathetic, customer-focused interaction.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders across institutions in a collaborative environment.
Autonomy: Comfort working independently, with minimal supervision, in both on-site and remote settings.
Preferred Qualifications
Security Context: Experience supporting or analyzing national security-relevant research programs or sensitive data environments.
Compliance: Understanding of federal research compliance frameworks and research integrity principles.
Regional Expertise: Experience working with or within academic consortia or state-level research networks.
Platform Familiarity: Familiarity with Dimensions, Altmetric, or similar research intelligence platforms is highly desirable.

Experience with a coding or query language (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
