About the role

  • Own the testing strategy for the global design system components including unit, integration, regression, accessibility, and visual testing
  • Build and maintain automated test suites across platforms
  • Implement and monitor CI/CD pipelines that validate every design system release (e.g., GitHub Actions or Jenkins)
  • Partner with developers and designers to write testable components and define test-driven workflows
  • Conduct manual exploratory testing where automation isn’t sufficient—especially for accessibility, responsiveness, and edge cases
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent behavior across supported environments
  • Develop visual regression testing pipelines using tools like Percy, Chromatic, or Storybook Addons
  • Test for accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA) using tools such as axe, Lighthouse, and screen readers
  • Maintain detailed bug reports, dashboards, and release health metrics to inform quality practices
  • Collaborate across product, platform, content, and accessibility teams to embed quality at every level of the system lifecycle
  • Handle testing and regression, unit and front-end-UI tests for React Native Mobile and React web environments
  • Drive reliable releases, ensure cross-platform consistency, and build tools and frameworks that support scalable testing for design system artifacts

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in QA engineering, SDET, or software testing roles within large-scale front-end platforms or design systems
  • Proficiency with test frameworks and tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium
  • Strong experience testing component libraries and UI frameworks (e.g., React, Web Components)
  • Experience building & supporting automated testing approaches: unit testing, visual/snapshot testing, accessibility testing, performance testing & cross-platform testing
  • Experience building automated testing pipelines in CI/CD environments (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Familiarity with design systems and Storybook workflows; able to test components in isolation and in context
  • Solid understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA) and how to test for compliance
  • Experience with visual regression tools (Percy, Chromatic) and Storybook Addons (preferred/bonus)
  • Experience with accessibility tooling such as axe, Lighthouse, and screen readers
  • Experience testing React Native Mobile and React web environments (preferred/bonus)
  • Has led past projects from beginning to end (preferred)
  • Detail-oriented with strong debugging skills and a mindset for preventing regressions
  • Strong communication and writing skills
