About the role
- Senior IT Project Engineer leading infrastructure projects at CGT Catapult. Providing expert design and implementation support across IT project teams and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure projects involving Windows Server technologies and Active Directory and Cloud Based Azure type systems
- Design, implement, and support Microsoft infrastructure services: AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO
- Liaise with our MSP around support of our managed virtual environments (VMware) network and storage solutions
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide2nd and 3rd line support
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration
- Maintain and optimise server performance, availability, and scalability
- Develop and enforce infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members
- Ensure compliance with ITIL v3/4 and security best practices
- Problem management escalation point for 1st and 2nd Line IT support teams
- 2nd/3rd line support of IT Lab Equipment support
- Technical Project ownership, supporting IT Project Managers with scoping and deployment of business and IT initiated projects including client support and collaboration on cost saving and improvement initiatives
- Provide support across the IT Engineering team during periods of planned leave
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role, such as a Project Engineer, Senior Delivery Engineer, or Windows or Infrastructure Engineer
- Strong experience with Microsoft systems and applications both within on-premises and cloud environments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience in managing and supporting IT networks across multiple facilities and locations
- Experience working within GMP or other regulated environments (desirable)
