About the role

- Lead the mechanical design and development of modular robotic components and assemblies from initial concept through production readiness.
- Create robust designs that balance functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive prototyping, assembly, and integration of mechanical systems.
- Plan and conduct mechanical testing and validation to verify performance, durability, and safety.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and drive design improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Software, Production) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Prepare high-quality technical documentation for designs, specifications, and test reports.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in mechanical engineering.
Requirements
- Abgeschlossenes Bachelor- oder Masterstudium im Bereich Maschinenbau oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung.
- Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Maschinenbau, mit praktischer Expertise sowohl in der mechanischen Konstruktion als auch in der Erprobung – idealerweise in den Bereichen Robotik, Automatisierung oder Präzisionstechnik.
- Sehr gute Kenntnisse in CAD-Software (bevorzugt SolidWorks; alternativ Inventor, CATIA oder vergleichbar).
- Nachweisbare Erfolge in der Konstruktion, dem Aufbau und der Validierung komplexer mechanischer Baugruppen.
- Fundiertes Verständnis von mechanischen Prinzipien, Werkstoffkunde, Toleranzanalyse und Fertigungsprozessen.
- Praktische Erfahrung im Prototyping und in der Montage.
- Fähigkeit, komplexe technische Herausforderungen zu analysieren und zu lösen.
- Exzellente schriftliche und mündliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten für technische Dokumentation und die Zusammenarbeit in interdisziplinären Teams.
- Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse, Deutschkenntnisse sind ein Plus.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering with hands-on design and testing experience.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred; Inventor, CATIA acceptable).
- Proven track record in designing, building, and validating complex mechanical assemblies.
- Hands-on prototyping and assembly skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
